events
Here's what's going on with Speakeasy! Thanks for stopping by, and make sure you come back frequently so you can come to all our events and keep up your life filled to the brim with a capella.
Sunday, December 7, 2008: Amasa Stone Chapel
5:30pm. Thanks to those of you who gave up studying for exams and came to our very late concert this year! In the spring we hope to have it earlier and also sing more than 1 new song (going against 20 odd semesters of tradition).
Wednesday, November 15, 2008: Quizno's
6pm. Speakeasy helped the Quiz Nos Cup ring in its 5th Birthday at the Triangle. There weren't a lot of people there but the workers seemed to enjoy us. I'm just glad we didn't get sued for sexual harrassment in the workplace after singing "Enormous Penis."
Saturday, November 1, 2008: Harkness Chapel
5:00PMWe hosted the first, and probably last, annual A cappella Fest with Case in Point. Thanks to those of you who came to the show rather than one of the other 15 events scheduled for that day. Outside groups "Up in the Air" from Tiffin University and "11th Hour" from Kettering Fairmont High School blew the socks off everyone. If you missed it, and we do have these groups back again, you should definitely check it out. It's amazing what you can do with individual mics and a subwoofer and equilizers. Speaking of which, anyone want to donate $10,000 to the "Get us sound equipment" fund...
October 12/November 15, 2008: Strosaker Auditorium
3pm. We sang at a few open houses. Hopefully our wonderous melodies inspired a few students to come to Case.
Thursday, September 4, 2008: Severance Hall
4:30pm. This year Case didn't invite us to sing the Alma Mater at Convocation (I think Andy's arrangement was so good it scared them away). However, we were hired to provide entertainment in the lobby of Severance before the Inamori Prize Ceremony. We even got to sing for Mr. Inamori and his wealthy, wealthy friends who flew all the way in from Japan.
Wednesday, August 27, 2007: Denison Hall

9pm. Auditions, recruitment, tryouts, rush, new-guy-finding; call it what you want but we need some Fresh Blood and will be holding auditions in a medium-sized room on Northside. We're always looking for all voice parts plus beatbox, so if you're interested, send an email to this guy, AKA Tyler.

Saturday, February 24, 2007: Nancy Pittard's House
5pm. Some of you (or none of you) might remember Nancy Pittard, the lady we affectionately refer to as the "Speakeasy Speakeasy Lady". Today is her 50th birthday party, and she couldn't think of a better way to celebrate than to have us serenade her. Can't blame her.

Wednesday, November 1, 2006: Wade Fireside
11:30pm-12am. RHA is hosting a Study Night, and we've been invited to sing! I'm not really sure how a capella is conducive to studying, but whatever. The singing starts at 10:15 and we're closing, but Solstice, Bigger Than a Breadbox, and Case in Point will also be performing. Come and get your study on!
